Broadcasters Welcome Radioplayer’s New Prototype for Connected Cars at Radiodays Europe

For the first time, listeners can seamlessly discover extra shows, podcasts, and exclusive station content - linked directly from the dashboard to the broadcaster’s own app or platform.

Today at Radiodays Europe in Athens, Radioplayer showed its new in-car radio prototype - delivering a real, working solution to secure radio’s future in the connected car.

Already the number one hybrid radio solution on European roads, Radioplayer is integrated into over four million cars across fifteen major automotive brands. With this new prototype, broadcasters stay in control of how their content is accessed and presented—on their terms, not dictated by third parties.

"This is more than an idea—it’s a working solution that broadcasters can shape," said Yann Legarson, CEO of Radioplayer. "This prototype is the result of years of close collaboration with both the automotive industry and the radio sector, working on behalf of broadcasters to secure radio’s prominence in the connected car. Radioplayer is uniquely positioned to bridge this gap, ensuring that radio remains central in dashboards, not controlled by third parties. By combining hybrid radio, seamless device sync, and direct links to broadcaster content, we’re not just innovating, we’re delivering the experience listeners expect: easy, smart, and always available."

For the first time, listeners can seamlessly discover extra shows, podcasts, and exclusive station content - linked directly from the dashboard to the broadcaster’s own app or from Radioplayer. This ensures that radio remains rich, dynamic, and competitive alongside other in-car audio options.

A Prototype That Delivers What Broadcasters Need.
Radioplayer’s new in-car solution directly addresses the biggest challenges facing radio in the connected car, ensuring prominence, accessibility, and control for broadcasters;

Hybrid Radio: Seamless switching between FM, DAB+, and IP, ensuring uninterrupted listening.

Sync Across Devices: Start in the car, continue on mobile, and pick up where you left off at home.

Direct Access to Broadcaster Content: For the first time, listeners can discover and access extra shows, podcasts, and exclusive station content—linked directly from the dashboard to the broadcaster’s own app or directly from Radioplayer.

"This is the first real solution that puts broadcasters in control of their own content inside the car," said Laurence Harrison, Director of Automotive Partnerships at Radioplayer. "Radioplayer is already integrated into over four million cars across fifteen major automotive brands, thanks to close partnerships with the industry—and that number is only growing. We’re not just securing radio’s place in dashboards, we’re enhancing the listener experience, making radio more dynamic, interactive, and seamless.

"We set out to create a real, working solution that keeps radio strong in the car—designed for broadcasters, with the listener experience at its core. This is not just about maintaining radio’s place in dashboards; it’s about evolving it. By combining hybrid radio, seamless device sync, and direct links to broadcaster content, we’re making radio more engaging, more accessible, and ready for the future."
