Radioplayer Conference Session

Radioplayer brings car radio done right to CarApp World Europe

Radioplayer will take part in CarApp World Europe in Paris on 5 October, with a conference session exploring how broadcasters are adapting to the connected car, and live demonstrations of the technology already delivering radio across millions of vehicles.

CarApp World Europe brings together carmakers, platform providers, app developers and media companies to examine how software, services and content are reshaping the connected cockpit. More than 200 senior industry representatives are expected at the event at Espace La Rochefoucauld in Paris.

For Radioplayer, the discussion is increasingly about delivery: how broadcasters can secure a prominent, intuitive and scalable presence across native car radio, automotive app platforms and voice-controlled environments.

At 09:45, Radioplayer Chief Partnerships Officer Laurence Harrison will join the session:

Reinventing In-Car Radio: How Broadcasters Are Adapting Apps, Voice & “Radio Ready” Standards

The panel will be moderated by Tomas Granryd, Head of Digital Partnerships at Swedish Radio, and will also feature David O’Neill, Project Manager, Automotive at ARD, and Marine Dupin, Product Manager at Radio France.

The session will explore how broadcasters are responding to a car environment increasingly shaped by software-defined vehicles, app ecosystems, large screens, voice assistants and new standards for radio prominence and accessibility.

The central challenge is no longer simply making radio available. It is ensuring that radio is easy to find, visually rich, reliable and properly integrated into the wider in-car experience — without requiring every broadcaster to build and maintain separate solutions for every car platform.

See Radioplayer technology in action

Throughout the event, visitors can also meet the Radioplayer team and see live demonstrations of how Radioplayer delivers radio across connected vehicles.

The demonstrations will show how Radioplayer combines broadcast reception with internet connectivity, official broadcaster metadata and digital services to create a richer and more intuitive radio experience. Visitors will also be able to explore how Radioplayer’s Broadcaster Apps give radio brands a dedicated presence within automotive app environments, alongside the tools used to manage station identity, quality and discovery.

Radioplayer technology is already deployed across 17 carmaker brands and more than seven million cars on European roads. Its broadcaster-owned platform gives carmakers access to trusted radio technology and content at scale, while giving broadcasters greater control over how their stations, brands and services appear in the car.

Continuing the conversation from Los Angeles

Radioplayer’s participation in Paris follows CarApp World Los Angeles, where Laurence joined BMW’s Joo-Hyung Maing, Waymo’s Melanie d’Achon and Mattijs de Valk from Appning by FORVIA to discuss the development of the in-car app ecosystem.

Scale, discovery and simplicity for drivers were central themes throughout the day. The discussion also highlighted that radio had solved many of these challenges long before the arrival of the automotive app economy: trusted content, habitual use, broad reach and simple access.

In Paris, Radioplayer will take that conversation further — demonstrating how native radio, broadcaster apps, voice, metadata and connected-car technology can work together as part of one coherent experience.

Because the challenge is not getting audio into the car. It is making great content easy to find, easy to access and simple to use.
