Radioplayer set to grow Metadata offer in 2020

The cornerstone of our automotive offer is the official broadcaster metadata that we provide for free to automotive partners through the Worldwide Radioplayer API (WRAPI). It’s the WRAPI that fuels a great radio experience on the dashboard and during 2020 we have ambitious plans in place to increase the breadth and quality of the metadata that is available and seeing how some areas can be improved and become more Automotive-specific. This follows our announcement in June this year that Radioplayer was the first company in the world to launch support for the new RadioDNS ‘ClientID’ standard, allowing car manufacturers to improve their in-car radio interfaces by adding rich metadata like streams, logos, now-playing information, and podcasts via the new feed. See the story here: Radioplayer launches new data feed for car companies.

There are three other areas where we will be focusing our efforts with automotive partners; Radioplayer app integration and new feature development; Hybrid radio (FM, DAB, IP) development; Creating a new reference user interface for radio alongside podcasts and on-demand. We know that creating a brilliant user experience is the most important aspect and collaborating with partners, building demonstrators and bringing concepts and ideas to life is the best way to achieve this. Our new Director of Automotive Partnerships Laurence Harrison joined Radioplayer in August and if you would like to discuss a partnership with Radioplayer please contact him using the contact form below.
